We had a surprise when we started on our 2 sea days – a drill in case of pirate attacks! This was news. I didn’t think the pirates came into this area. At night we are to ensure no lights can be seen from our stateroom and all external lights on the ship are turned off. The ship is in contact with the multi-national fleet that protects the area and of course they tell us an attack is highly unlikely (hope they are correct!). I think the pirates are usually more interested in the oil tankers.
We have 2 days to get to Mumbai and we speeded through the first day and night. We have slowed down a bit now.
Lots to do, weather is perfect, sunny, about 25C with smooth seas so people are sunning and swimming. There are lectures on the areas we are visiting, cooking classes, needle point groups, lectures on pearls, bridge, music, games, golfing contests, trivia etc and, oh yes! lots to eat.
The drill was simple – we are to vacate our cabin and sit in the stairwells which is in the middle of the ship and farthest area from the windows. From what I could see we sit there while the crew runs around!
The ship is being decorated for Christmas with trees in all the public areas.
Dec. 14 we will land in Mumbai where Gary and I are off the ship for 3 days. We will fly to Delhi then have a 3.5 hour bus ride to Agra where the Taj Mahal is located. We stay in that area for 2 nights then have a 3.5 hour bus ride back to Delhi and get on a plane, fly to Goa where we reboard the ship – there are about 75 of us making the trip.
Ross, no it was not an out house – an elaborate door. Rick, don’t worry about me, I understand there is lots of shopping opportunities to come.

Pat, I don’t think you have to worry about the pirates,I understand most of them are gay. It might be a differenr story for Gary. Your trip to Agra should be memorable.
Hi Pat & Gary
Pirates,,,,,yikes !!
arhh,,, that’s a pretty tree.
It is snowing here today so I am very envious of the sun bathers.
Your side trip to the Taj sounds amazing. Take lots of pictures Gary.
