Road Town, capital of the British Virgin Islands is built on reclaimed lands

The Govenor’s mansion has been rebuilt 3 times after being destroyed by hurricanes.

It is preserved mainly because of the murals in the dining room painted by one of the Govenor’s wives.

We visited an old cotton mill – some examples of items made by the slaves from cotton scraps.

A church in Kingston where we heard a reading of the emancipation order of 1803.

Our guide – educated in US on a basketball scholarship. His hair comes down to his knees!

A few of the 60 islands that make up BVI. Main business is a tax haven – home to over 60,000 numbered companies and many major banks. Second biggest industry is charter boats tourism is 3rd.
